Designed for Post Reflow Defluxing
Trident is a multi-award winning fully automatic defluxing and cleanliness testing system designed specifically for the electronic assembly industry.  Unlike most other batch-format cleaning systems which relabeled glassware washers, Trident was designed from the ground up to remove flux and other process contamination from post-reflowed circuit assemblies.
Trident achieves cleanliness results exceeding all military, IPC, medical, and all other high reliability cleanliness standards.

Why we build Trident Trident User Features The Rush to
Clean No Clean
Dendrite Growth

Capabilities
Trident is capable of removing all flux types including Rosin, Water Soluble, and all No-Cleans from eutectic and lead-free assemblies.
Trident is equipped with the multiple award winning Focus-Wash cleaning technology.  Focus-Wash directs more fluid flow to a concentrated area, with a higher velocity, resulting in greater impact pressure, providing superior impingement, even on densely populated, low standoff SMT assemblies.  Trident’s exclusive oscillating board rack and counter-rotating asymmetrical spray arms virtually eliminate the shadowing concerns common with all other brands.

Built-In Cleanliness Tester
Trident is equipped with real-time predictive cleanliness capabilities.  The on-board cleanliness tester automatically controls the cleaning process, ensuring a cleanliness level that equals or exceeds your programmed setting.  In many cases, Trident’s predictive cleanliness capability eliminates the need for off-line post defluxing cleanliness testing.

Control Systems
Trident is controlled by a powerful industrial computer running the exceptionally stable Windows CE platform.  A large graphic touch-screen provides an intuitive operator interface.  Operators may select from more than 1000 user-defined program recipes.  Authorized supervisors and administrators with password privileges have additional access to the recipe editor and administrative functions.  An on-board statistical process control (SPC) data logger automatically records vital process information such as cleanliness levels, cycle times, operating temperatures, etc.  SPC data may be viewed locally on the display screen, exported onto a USB device, or viewed remotely on any network-connected PC.

Trident's wireless remote viewing option allows users to view Trident's control screen remotely, from any network-connected PC.

Rugged Construction
Trident features a tough welded steel frame with a durable powder-coat finish.  Trident features a powerful multi-stage stainless steel spray pump designed exclusively for Aqueous Technologies by ITT-Goulds, North America's leading high performance pump manufacturer.

Configurations
All Trident Series automatic defluxing and cleanliness testing systems are equipped with identical power and performance ratings.  There are a number of discharge and throughput configurations available to meet virtually all requirements.
Trident is available in three discharge configurations:

Trident is equipped with a host of standard features such as stainless steel plumbing, pre-drain filtration system, stainless steel adjustable board rack, and much more.
Explanation of cycles (per model):

Trident I: Trident I is capable of removing all flux residues including Rosin, No-Clean, and Water Soluble. Both lead and lead-free flux residues may be removed using Trident I. Trident I is equipped with an automatic chemical injection system that automatically adds a programmable volume of defluxing chemical to the wash water. Wash solution is heated automatically and sprayed onto the assemblies. At the end of the wash cycle, the wash solution is directed through a stainless steel filter housing and drained from the machine. Rinse water is then sprayed onto the assemblies until the desired cleanliness level is achieved. All rinse water is directed through the pre-drain filtration system then sent to drain. Assemblies are dried via the on-board convection and radiant forced air drying system. An optional Zero-Discharge evaporation system eliminates connection to a drain line.

Trident II: Trident II is capable of removing all flux residues including Rosin, No-Clean, and Water Soluble. Both lead and lead-free flux residues may be removed using Trident II. Trident II is equipped with a closed-loop wash solution recycling system. Wash solution is heated automatically and sprayed on the assemblies. At the end of the wash cycle, the wash solution is directed back to the wash solution holding tank for subsequent reuse.

Trident III: Trident III is capable of removing all flux residues including Rosin, No-Clean, and Water Soluble. Both lead and lead-free flux residues may be removed using Trident III. Trident III is equipped with an automatic chemical injection system that automatically adds a programmable volume of defluxing chemical to the wash water. Trident III is equipped with a closed-loop wash solution recycling system. Wash solution is heated automatically and sprayed onto the assemblies. At the end of the wash cycle, the wash solution is directed back to the wash solution holding tank for subsequent reuse. Rinse water is then sprayed onto the assemblies until the desired cleanliness level is achieved. All rinse water is directed through the pre-drain filtration system then sent to drain. Trident III is equipped with a host of standard features including programmable maintenance reminders, remote SPC viewing, SPC data USB export, and an built-in chemical management system. An optional Zero-Discharge evaporation system eliminates connection to a drain line.

Require High Throughput?
Get out of Line and Get into Trident High-Yield

Trident High Yield Models
More throughput and process control than an inline defluxer
Lower acquisition and operating cost than an inline defluxer
More environmental responsible than an inline defluxer
Less floor-space than an inline defluxer

Trident is available in four throughput configurations.  Trident Duo, Trio, and Quad produce two, three, and four times (respectively) the throughput of a single-chambered Trident.

Trident Duo Trident Trio

The Trident High Yield models provide a cost effective alternative to inline defluxing systems.  While most inline defluxing systems consume and discharge as much as 5 gallons (19 liters) of deionized water PER MINUTE, Trident High-Yield defluxing systems use between 0.5 - 2 gallons (1.8 - 7.5 liters) per minute, a reduction of up to 60%.

Trident High-Yield defluxing systems are equipped with multiple (2 - 4) autonomous defluxing chambers.  Each chamber is controlled by a dedicated computer controller and may be operated with different defluxing chemistries for maximum flexibility.  Each defluxing chamber is equipped with independent cleanliness testing capabilities and recallable SPC data records.  Unlike any inline defluxing system, only Trident High-Yield models are capable of high throughput levels and built-in cleanliness testing.
